So my mother in her retirement has set up her own Esty shop for knitwear for BJD’s. She spends a lot of time doing the patterns and buying expensive wool to make them. She really enjoys this little hobby of hers but the shop is getting little to no attention. So if you like what you see and you want a little jumper for your dolly this winter, consider her shop please. She also makes the jewelry seen in the photos. She takes custom orders and can knit any style you want e.g punk

I got two sweaters from your mom and they are fantastic <3 I’ll be back for more sometime before winter. Please, say hi from Dedra ;)

A good way to get a cute little gift box when you don’t have time to go looking for it in shops is to make your own.

If you have any old wall calendars (A4 size) with pictures you like, you can turn them into gift boxes by printing a gift box template (many free templates can be found on google) on the calendar side (leaving the picture nice and clean). Cut out, fold and glue if needed.

And there you have it, a pretty box!

My old calendar is full of beautiful nature photos. The previous box I made was covered in hepatica blooms and it was the cutest thing ever. Perfect for small gifts. And the best part is, if you have kids, they can join in and help make boxes.

A lovely deep red skirt for Dedrastarling.

The skirt is fully lined with red lining and closes in the back with a Velcro closure. All seam allowances are serged and pressed.

Wedding Dress

1938

This fashionable red silk gauze dress was a bold choice for a wedding. It was worn by Monica Maurice (1908-1995) for a quiet marriage to Dr.Arthur Newton Jackson (1904-1985) at the Chapel of Our Lady on Rotheram Bridge in South Yorkshire on 18 June 1938. Monica was an independent and unconventional woman who in 1938 become the first – and until 1978 only – woman member of the Association of Mining Electrical Engineers. In addition to her passions for racing cars and flying, she loved to wear striking and stylish clothes. For her wedding she chose a feminine day dress in her favourite colour, a rich ruby red. The sheer dress was worn with a matching artificial silk slip and contrasting deep blue silk belt. She wore a floral wreath with a shoulder-length veil. Although her headdress has not survived and is only visible in black-and-white family photographs, her veil seems to have been either red or blue to match the dress.

For the bride conditioned to think in terms of a traditional Western white-wedding, red is one of the most daring alternative colours. However, in many non-Western cultures, red is traditional for wedding garments. It is often worn by Hindu and Muslim brides, and for Chinese and Vietnamese brides the colour represents good luck.

Another leotard shirt. You’ll be seeing a lot of this one since I’ll be using it to take photos of skirts and pants for my Etsy shop.

The pattern is pretty much perfected. Only needs slight height changes (the sheer part may need to move up a cm or two and the top stitching on the front pleats might need to be longer.) This version opens at the crotch so it’s a lot easier to put on the doll.

I’m still waiting for some thinner kind of Velcro, but once it’s here I’ll be posting a number of skirts up for sale on Etsy.
